CHEE & DD - Collège des Hautes Etudes de l'Environnement
Objective
The objective of the CHEE is to give directors and managers the most relevant references and additional knowledge about the political, legal, economic and sociological dimensions of the environment and Sustainable Development, a concept that arose from the Rio Summit of 1992, and was confirmed at the Johannesburg Summit (2002) as a real key for the 21st century.
So it is a question of developing the ability of these managers to determine the most appropriate policy for their organization and adopt strategies that integrate concerns for the environment and sustainable development, thanks to various indications given by representatives of the State, businesses, associations and local authorities.
The CHEE hopes to contribute to a very wide understanding of the environment, totally integrated into a Sustainable Development procedure which pays great attention to its temporal (concern about future generations) and ethical (good governance) dimensions.
This involves networking the different areas of competence concerned, merging cultures and favoring reflection by the exchange and confrontation of ideas. The CHEE ambition is to raise the awareness of managers and give them a deeper understanding of sustainable development, helping them to integrate and express this concept in the policies and strategies of their own organization.
A new partnership for new ambitions

A new partnership for new ambitions
The partnership established around the École Centrale Paris, and more particularly with Centrale Formation, makes it possible to envisage new developments, notably:
- with regard to partner establishments, including initial training courses, because environmental challenges are felt in all sectors of activity,
- and with regard to the international dimension and more particularly Europe, because all professionals know that it is at these levels that major decisions are made, and that national policies are only their expression.
The CHEE today offers:
- a main session from November to July which concerns about twenty managers,
- strategic seminars of one or two days dealing with topical themes depending on the general management's register of concern,
- special "intra" sessions designed specifically for large businesses, professional organizations and public services,
- bilateral sessions organized with foreign countries (French-speaking countries, Eastern Europe...).
