Entrance requirements
Doctorate entrance requirements
French or foreign students who hold a DEA may apply and register for a doctoral thesis. The DEA requirement may be waived in exceptional circumstances where a candidate has already benefited from a recognized introduction to research or has already undertaken a personal research project.
The final decision is taken by the Director of the École Centrale Paris following the candidate's proposal by the Supervisor. The usual time taken for the completion of a doctorate is 3 years.
Candidates who have satisfactorily passed their viva are awarded the title of " Docteur de l'École Centrale Paris ", in the speciality in which they carried out their research.
