Non degree-seeking Exchange Programmes
Students from partner universities can study in the Ingénieur Centralien Programme as non-degree students either:
-
In the 2nd year of the Ingénieur Centralien Programme: semester S7 and/or semester S8
(4th year of the French Engineering Curriculum) -
In the 3rd year and final year of the Ingénieur Centralien Programme: one complete year + internship
( 5th year of the French Engineering Curriculum)
École Centrale Paris: a Leading Institution for Science and Engineering
Founded in 1829, as École Centale des Arts et Manufactures, this "Grande École" is ranked in the top three with a broad curriculum, two-thirds scientific, one-third humanities and languages. Upon graduation, the students become high-level engineers and managers in industry or research. Many well-known engineers and industrialists have graduated from École Centrale Paris, including Eiffel, Michelin, Peugeot, and Schlumberger.
Internationally Focused
École Centrale Paris has an international student population of 30% from around the world. Half of those students are enrolled in the T.I.M.E. double-degree programme, which was initiated over twenty years ago by École Centrale Paris and has now graduated over 1500 European students with a double degree from École Centrale Paris and from their home institution.
Also, more than 25% of final year École Centrale Paris students pursue a Master’s degree abroad in Australia, Brazil, China, Europe, Japan, Russia, Singapore, or the United States.
A period of study at École Centrale Paris is thus a unique opportunity for international students to develop a range of connections with the global technical community, in particular with the future leaders of science and industry in Europe.
Competitive Admissions
École Centrale Paris recruits French students after two years of university-level study in mathematics and physics through a highly selective nation-wide entrance competition.
International students are selected on the basis of outstanding academic credentials and recommendations.
Non-degree seeking exchange programmes for International students
Students can spend one semester or a full academic year of complete immersion in a multidisciplinary curriculum covering sciences, engineering and humanities. Courses are taken for credit so that this programme does not lengthen the student’s studies at the home institution.
Non degree-seeking exchange in the 2nd year of the Ingénieur Centralien Programme: semester S7 and/or semester S8
(4th year of the French Engineering Curriculum)
These semesters (S7 and S8) offer many electives in engineering and are well suited for international students. Semester S8 may be best suited for students with limited knowledge of French as almost half of the courses are offered in English.
