• M2 Systemic & Synthetic Biology (BSS)

    Objectives

    The Systemic and Synthetic Biology specialization (BSS) provides training in methods for the description of complex biological systems, in forms readily manipulable within computer environments.
    Biological modeling entails, among other things, an interdisciplinary approach combining computer science, mathematics, physics, and chemistry. The program is thus designed to provide scientists, engineers, and researchers with the following skills: a thorough mastery of mathematical, computer, and biological modeling techniques. The training program will also provide the necessary knowledge in physics and chemistry for modeling biological systems.

This training prepares students for careers in fundamental and applied research in the life sciences, and the entire industrial sector growing out of synthetic biology, which comprises medicine, energy production and biomaterials. Graduates with multidisciplinary skills are particularly sought after in the computer science industry.
