French vs. International educational systems

In France, the first two years of post-high school studies are conducted in Classes Préparatoires, where students follow an intensive training in Mathematics and Physics. The first and second years at Centrale Paris correspond to the third and fourth year of post-high school education. The third year at Centrale Paris is equivalent to a Master of Science in Engineering program.
In the European system (Bologna convention), the first year of studies at Centrale Paris is equivalent to the third year of the 3-year European Bachelor (License) program. The second year at Centrale Paris is equivalent to the first year of the 2-year European Master program (M1). The third year at Centrale Paris is equivalent to the second year of the European Master program (M2).
In the American system, the first and second years at Centrale Paris correspond to the Junior and Senior years.
