An Overview of Ecole Centrale Paris
Campus ECP
The aim of Ecole Centrale Paris is to produce top-level, multi-disciplinary engineers and managers. While in constant evolution to anticipate and reflect the needs of the fast-changing industrial and economic environment, the three-year curriculum at Ecole Centrale Paris consistently emphasizes a balance among three fundamental aspects:

Introduction

Ecole Centrale Paris is one of the most prestigious science and engineering schools in France.
Founded in 1829 under the name Ecole Centrale des Arts et Manufactures, its vocation has from the start been to educate "doctors for industry". Many well-known engineers and industrialists have graduated from the school, including Eiffel, Michelin and Peugeot. Its campus is located ten kilometers south of Paris and affords easy access to the city. Ecole Centrale Paris recruits its students after two years of university-level preparatory study in mathematics and physics through a nation-wide competitive entrance examination from among the best science students in France. They study a broad-based curriculum (two-thirds scientific, one-third humanities and languages). When the students graduate, they become high-level multi-disciplinary engineers and managers in industry and research. The absence of specialization and the multi-disciplinary approach, underlaid by a strong mathematical bent, is typical of the top Grandes Ecoles, as they are called.
